Napa Sandwich
Bite
Johns Creek, Georgia
Bite’s signature “Napa” sandwich is the most creative sandwich I have ever had. The poached figs perfectly complement the blue cheese. Pair this with a classic Zinfandel.
Fish Tacos
Gott’s Roadside
3 locations, Northern California
I love the whole experience at Gott’s Roadside. I usually dine outside on their old-fashioned, red picnic tables, while enjoying their fish tacos. The Mahi Mahi works so well with the cilantro sour cream. I recommend an order of the sweet potato fries on the side.
Pork Belly Buns (and a bloody mary)
Redd
Yountville, CA
The steamed pork buns are a delicious, savory dish that’s a must-have while visiting California’s wine country. The hoisin sauce on this dish has me drooling before I even order it! And speaking of pork, I recommend Redd’s bloody mary, with bacon-infused vodka and a garnish of bacon.
Pan-Seared Day Boat Scallops
Slanted Door
San Francisco
I’m usually not a fan of scallops, but the way these are prepared has changed my mind. They are pan-seared and served with Star Route Farm spinach and spicy pineapple-coconut sauce. I enjoy them with a German Riesling.
Lobster with Vanilla, Bisque and Lobster Roe Foam
Remy restaurant
Disney Dream cruise ship
This restaurant surprised me, since it’s located on a cruise ship. It’s designed after Disney’s movie, Ratatouille. One dish in particular stood out to me:
Lobster with Vanilla, Bisque and Lobster Roe Foam. It is accompanied by a Champagne cocktail made tableside with candied apricots, raspberries, champagne and pear vodka.
Australian Kobe Beef Tenderloin Steak
Victoria and Albert’s, Grand Floridian
Orlando, Florida
Another Disney property restaurant tops my list. The Australian “Kobe” beef tenderloin with smoked garlic-potato puree is the best steak dish I have ever had. In addition to the juicy, tender steak itself, the presentation and service were impeccable.
Dulce de Leche Crepes
Pampas Steakhouse
Johns Creek, Georgia
I always have to complete my meal at Pampas with the decadent Dulce de Leche Crepes. Flambéed tableside, they make for a great presentation. On my most recent visit, I accompanied this dessert with a nice Tokai.
Egg White Omelet
Babs Midtown
Atlanta, GA
Babs is quite a hidden gem in Atlanta and is a must for breakfast. The egg white omelet is the best I ever had—it combines spinach, goat cheese and Portobello mushrooms for an “unbeatable” flavor. I recommend pairing this with one of Babs’ signature mimosas.
Foie Gras
Matthew’s
Jacksonville, FL
I thoroughly enjoyed Matthew’s Hudson Valley foie gras with onion confit and saffron onion marmalade. The onion confit and marmalade really bring out the flavors of the foie gras. My recommended pairing is a Sauternes.
Cheese Plate
Milton’s Cuisine and Cocktails
Milton, GA
Sweet and refreshing, Milton’s cheese plate incorporates strawberries that have been tossed in truffle oil and honey sauce. It’s truly a seasonal favorite. Enjoy this course with a light Pinot Noir.
